Hi , I'm Amie Barsky and I'm so excited to introduce myself to you. I'm an entrepreneur, self development thought leader, a certified Healthy Habits & Empowerment Coach and creator of The Shift Method.
I guide working professionals in getting over the hump of emotional overwhelm, anxiety and depression through Positive Psychology, Subconscious Reprogramming and Emotional Intelligence techniques. I also has an extensive background in yoga & meditation.
I tailor each session to fit the needs of where you are now, working through unresolved issues, dissolving road blocks and together creating a road map to get you where you want to go.
I was exceedingly unhappy for many years, though my life seemed "perfect" from the outside, I was crumbling on the inside. I was living an unbalanced life marked by depression and severe anxiety, unhealthy foods, and unhealthy thoughts. I was uncertain about life and each day felt like roller coaster with no self love in sight.
That's when I committed to making my personal shift. I quit! I left everything behind, I hit the reset button and started from scratch. I committed to becoming a "self help junkie" and removed the toxicity in my life.
I immersed myself into exploring the authentic truth of self-love. My path was no walk in the park, as a matter of fact at first, my anxiety and depression reared it's ugly head even more. In the beginning my "self love" was on the surface: massages, mani-pedis & retail therapy. Also finally realizing changing jobs, partners and homes was just a temporary bandaid, what truly shifted me was the deep inner work. That work happened and was supported by yoga, mediation, managing my nutrition, attending seminars and workshops as well as working with life coaches. The shift allowed me to feel something incredible.... finally truly healthy, whole and happy.
I'm a firm believer that we all deserve to live fun, fulfilling and balanced lives. I've been successful at shifting my life mentally, physically and emotionally and I compelled to share these insights and tools so that YOU can all live a happier, healthier life.
I created The Shift Method to guide people in getting over the hump of emotional overwhelm, anxiety and depression. For those who are feeling what I was feeling, stuck, uncertain and know they want something bigger for themselves. I feel honored to have shared my method globally through one : one sessions, women's workshops and my online programs. All of my teachings are centered on mindfulness and conscious living. Designed to guide you into focus, clarity, bite- sizable goals creating new pathways into an empowering and energetic life.
This passion started local, in my birthplace, Philadelphia, PA. My charity work and community involvement began while I was in college and was privileged to perform as an NFL cheerleader. This exposure gave me the platform to reach out in many areas, from raising money for various charities, giving my time and energy at local shelters, feeding the homeless or speaking to youth at inner-city schools.
I was inspired and grateful for these experiences. Soon after, I traveled to Thailand to dance in a music video. Little did I know that an ankle injury two days into my trip would prevent me from continuing that journey but another door opened to a life changing opportunity. Since my flight arrangements were nonrefundable I was "stuck" on the island of Kho-Phi-Phi, I quickly learned that I was just around the coast to where they had been hit by the epic tsunami just a few months previous.
They were still suffering from this catastrophe and knowing I'm not one to sit still for very long, I found myself volunteering . I spent time in the local villages helping rebuild their homes for the duration of my stay. Exposed to such tragedy, I was forever changed. Shortly after returning to the states, with a new perspective on life, a mission to continue serving and a whole lot of hope, I dove into the unknown and set Maryvale Angels, my nonprofit, in motion.
Since then I've traveled to over 50 countries, inspiring others near and far, in anyway I felt I could reach them, be it spending time hearing their voice, leading workshops, teaching, building, farming, listening, observing, marinating in the culture, I am addicted!
