I needed to make some major changes, I was desperate and I knew that ANYTHING would be better than where I was. After years of feeling unsatisfied with my life, I QUIT!  Making the hardest decision I had ever made, I walked away from everything I was and finally said YES to everything I knew I could be.

 

My gut said, its time! I kid you not, within seconds of making that deliberate decision in my heart, my Shift had begun. I instantly felt lighter, more focused and aware. However, after a day or two the nostalgia wore off and reality set in...Oh, you mean I have to do more than “quit that sh**t", you mean just saying, “yeah, I’m happy” wasn’t enough?

 

UGH, I didn’t know what steps to take at first. I was overwhelmed but at the same time I reminded myself of my true WHY: I refused to continue living an unhappy way of life!

I turned to the best of the best, empowerment books & self-help articles, workshops, seminars, webinars and started working with a life coach. FINALLY, I was investing in ME. I was addicted, couldn’t get enough. I became a “self help” junkie!

It was like a whole new world opened up that I never knew existed. The truth is it wasn’t easy at first, breaking old habits & patterns was challenging, but I was determined. I was on a quest to live a happy life. The more I focused and practiced these tools & techniques, the easier it became, but I still felt like something was missing. I had the pieces to the puzzle but there was no glue, no grounding. I still felt inner emptiness, unfulfilled and UNHAPPY!

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks, HOLY SH**T - the missing and most crucial piece….

I thought - well sure, I guess, I mean, well, what do you mean? She said, "I mean like really love yourself. The good the bad and the ugly. All of you, like you are at the top of your list love yourself?".  I just stood there, feeling confused, deflated and embarrassed.

 

I kept looking outside of myself, and what I needed to bring it all into balance was that one missing piece, SELF LOVE - I hadn’t really, truly loved myself, was THE missing piece, the glue.  

 

Now to be honest I had no idea how to love myself. SELF LOVE? What’s that? Those words alone were such a foreign concept! I was too busy giving my love away to others without replenishing MY SELF LOVE TANK! I was running on empty.

 

When I accepted this as my past reality my life truly turned around! Opportunities opened up and life-changing experiences poured in.

SELF LOVE catapulted my life into a consciousness beyond my previous, limited beliefs.

  • I spent years covering up, hiding, & feeling shame about myself, both inside and out.

  • I honestly felt I didn't fit in. Not at school, at church or at social functions. I was convinced that I wasn't good enough; that I wore the wrong clothes and said the wrong things. Plus It didn't help that I wore my emotions on my sleeve.

  • I felt inadequate, insecure or unworthy. There was no way I would let my true self shine.

  • Over the years, I got really good at becoming an impostor. I covered myself up with qualities that weren't actually mine and instead, I tried to be more like people who seemed to be loved by everyone.

 

  • I did not speak my mind. I'd say yes hoping to "fit in" when I really wanted to say NO.

  • At the end of the day, I was pooped & angry at everyone...but mostly, I was angry with myself.

 

  • It was sad, I was sad. I was depressed and my anxiety was getting the best of me. I was genuinely afraid of who I was becoming.
